2023 NACO Annual Conference!

Over 200 county elected officials, staff and business leaders joined us in Elko County. Attendee's enjoyed the President's Reception at the amazing Ruby 360 Lodge wih it's stunning views, experienced educational sessions on topics important to Nevada's county's and heard from fantastic speakers, including the President of the National Association of Counties (NACo). Below are highlights of the event.

NACO Vice President, Mineral County Commissioner Cassie Hall, NACO Executive Director, Vinson Guthreau, NACo President Mary Jo McGuire, and NACO President, Lincoln County Commissioner Varlin Higbee enjoyed the Annual Banquet.

President Higbee was honored at the President's Reception where he received the traditional caricature, presented by NACO President Elect, Carson City Supervioser Stacey Giomi. President Higbee was also acknowledged the NACO Past Presidents in attendance. Commissioner Marilyn Kirkpatrick, Clark County; Commissioner Laurie Carson, White Pine County; Bob Lucey, former Washoe County Commissioner and Roger Mancebo, former Pershing County Commissioner.

At the Annual Awards Banquet, catered by the famed Star Restaurant, White Pine County Commissioner Laurie Carson received the Participatory Democracy Award. Clark County Assessor Briana Johnson was inducted into the NACO Honor Roll, and members of the Elko County Managers Office were acknowledged for all their assistance in planning the event.
